Rational #2 (Satirical Cartoon)
For the second composition, I decided to create a satirical cartoon that is supposed to represent pink tax occurring. The satirical cartoon is supposed to be comical but also highlights the flaws in society. I choose this genre because I wanted the readers to understand the perspective of females and bring awareness to a different type of audience who enjoy satirical cartoons. In the cartoon, there is two character who are speaking to each other. In the first scene, the boy character can be seen yelling “Pink Tax Is A MYTH!”, this is supposed to represent the disbelief in this occurrence. To which the girl responded with “Ok”, then on the second scene the girl can be seen in the aisle trying to purchase an item. On the aisle, there is the male and female product that have different prices. This allows the audience to see the price difference between male and female. In the drawing, I included products that are the same but labeled specifically for male and female. There is also at the bottom corner of the aisle is male and female service. For the female products, I had labeled the prices to be higher than the male products to help give the idea of a pink tax to the audience. On the third scene, is where the satirical comedy is found because the character has dialogue. The dialogue is between the boy and girl from the first scene. In the dialogue, it a back and forth to highlight the government action in not fixing the discrimination against female.

Reflection #2 (Satirical Cartoon)
The topic of the cartoon was about pink tax. This assignment was an individual activity where we picked different genres to illustrate our topic. From my research found from Essay one and two, I was able to create a comedic strip that showed the audience a glimpse of pink tax. It took a couple of hours to complete the cartoon and the dialogue. I used clarity in the purpose of the topic by creating multiple scenes that show the various side of the topic. For instance, the first scene shows the nonbelievers of the pink tax, the second scene shows pink tax occurring in the store and the third scene shows the debate. The purpose of the satirical cartoon was to highlight the government lack of action to improve pink tax. I made sure I applied clarity by writing in the dialogue what the government does instead of fixing pink tax. Throughout the illustration, it could be clearly seen that I supported the end of pink tax because I sarcastically joked about the lack of attention given to pink tax. The most challenging part of this genre was being able to give the audience the right message about pink. The least challenging was drawing the characters and scene. What I would do next time differently is ask more people what they think about the image in order to ensure that I’m creating the right message about pink tax. What I liked about the essay was that I got to explore more on the topic of pink tax and figure why I thought this side is right.
